Mandoki’s Soulmates is the collective title for a ever-evolving band of musicians from several disciplines. Jazzers like Anthony Jackson, Bill Evans, Al Di Meola, Victor Bailey and Randy Brecker plus rock artists such as Bobby Kimball, Jack Bruce, Jon Lord and…. er… me. Mix in a few merry popsters like Chaka Khan, Chris Thompson and you have an eclectic and electric performance guaranteed.

These recordings, entitled “Budabest”, embrace many of the musicians and concerts by Soulmates over the years. The tracks on which I play, were actually recorded live in Budapest at a festival on the night following a performance by Jethro Tull, as I recall”

The Mandoki Soulmates Bobby Kimball, Chris Thompson, Chaka Khan, Jack Bruce, Greg Lake, Nick van Eede, Randy Brecker, Bill Evans, Al Di Meola, John Helliwell and Peter Maffay have gathered around bandleader Leslie Mandoki to celebrate their 20th anniversary live on stage at the beautiful Palace of Arts in Budapest. The celebration of creativity was recorded on tape and will be released as Triple-CD and Double-DVD for all those who didn’t have the chance to experience this unique concert in the heart of Leslie Mandoki’s hometown. This album is a definite “must have” for those, who are keen on listening to pure fantastic Jazz/Rock.
